So the newest issue on One ( http://www.believeinone.com )should be on the shelves soon, if not already. On the cover you can see Shima (huge fan of btw). On to the drama part. When I first saw the cover I liked it, still do, but many disagree; join the argument on the be-mag message board. The whole problem seems to be that its not a huge trick, or something crazy. To me I can picture Shima flowing and just throwing this down, making it look good. If the whole thing right now in the industry is to gain awareness for rollerblading and seperate us from skateboarding, etc, then I think the photo works perfect. I go back to a conversation I had with Ryan Shude in Rochester a few years ago when Daily Bread was still around and he was shooting for them. He was telling me about the types of photos DB was trying to get for publication....... nice tight shots where you can see faces, and skates and actualy see wheels taking up the majority of the frame. To the genereal public who usually dont see a difference between rollerblading and skateboarding, actually seeing the skates is definatly a good move for a cover photo. Although this isn't the craziest trick, or best photo One has published, it is eye catching, and that should (and obviously is) be a goal for a cover photo, and a goal to spread rollerblading to the masses. Pick up an issue and see for yourself.
